Proposal and engagement photography in Yarmouth and across Cape Cod. Discreet coverage, golden hour sessions, and a photographer who stays out of the way so the moment can just be.
Yarmouth Engagement & Proposal Photography
Yarmouth stretches across both sides of the Cape — bay beaches with long tidal flats to the north, Nantucket Sound shoreline to the south. Bass Hole's boardwalk and tidal marsh, Englewood Beach's calm water, and the Parker's River area give couples real variety in backdrop and atmosphere, all within one town.
Shooting in Yarmouth
Yarmouth has a stretch of coastline and character that sets it apart. A few of the most popular spots for proposals and engagement sessions here:
The long boardwalk over the tidal marsh at Bass Hole is one of the most distinctive proposal settings on the bay side of the Cape. The elevated walkway, open marsh views, and calm bay beyond make it visually unlike anything else on Cape Cod. Golden hour light here is warm and sweeping.
A relaxed bay beach with calm, shallow water and a wide sandy shoreline. Less crowded than some of the better-known spots, which makes for a more personal feel. The open bay backdrop and gentle light off the water suit both surprise proposals and unhurried engagement sessions.
The south-facing Nantucket Sound shoreline in South Yarmouth and the Parker's River area offer a quieter waterfront character. Docks, inlets, and a more residential atmosphere make it a good choice for couples who want something intimate rather than open and exposed.

Bass Hole's boardwalk over the tidal marsh, Englewood Beach on the bay side, and the south-facing Nantucket Sound shoreline are all strong options. Bass Hole is particularly distinctive — the elevated boardwalk over the marsh creates a backdrop unlike anything else on Cape Cod.
Is Bass Hole a good place for a proposal in Yarmouth?
Yes. The long boardwalk over the tidal marsh at Bass Hole is one of the most visually distinctive proposal settings on the Cape. The elevated walkway provides natural framing, the open marsh and bay beyond give a sweeping backdrop, and the late afternoon light here is exceptional.
How much does an engagement photographer cost in Yarmouth?
Three packages are available. A surprise proposal session starts at $200 for candid coverage of the moment. A proposal plus posed session is $450 and includes 40 edited photos. A standalone engagement session is $300 for one hour and 40 edited photos.
How do you stay hidden during a surprise proposal in Yarmouth?
The location is scouted ahead of time and I position well back with a long lens. I scout the location ahead of time and shoot from a distance with a long lens. Bass Hole's boardwalk and the open bay beaches of Yarmouth both provide natural positioning to capture the moment without drawing attention. Most partners never realize a photographer was present until they see the photos.
What is the best time of day for engagement photos in Yarmouth?
Golden hour on Yarmouth's bay-side beaches is ideal — Bass Hole and Englewood face west and the light off the bay turns warm and directional in the hour before sunset. The south-facing Nantucket Sound beaches are equally good at that time of day. Timing is coordinated based on your chosen location and the season.
How far in advance should I book?
For a planned engagement session, 2 to 4 weeks is ideal, though shorter timelines are accommodated when the schedule allows. For surprise proposals, reaching out as soon as a date is set gives the most flexibility for scouting and coordination.
What happens if the weather does not cooperate?
Weather is monitored closely leading up to every session. Overcast skies often produce soft, even light that is actually flattering for portraits. For genuinely unworkable conditions, the session is rescheduled at no extra cost.
Do you shoot engagement sessions outside of Yarmouth?
Yes, all of Cape Cod and beyond. Dennis, Barnstable, Hyannis, Chatham, Harwich, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham, Falmouth, Provincetown, and any location that is meaningful to the couple. Any location that is meaningful to the couple is welcome.
Reach out with your timeline and location in mind. Last-minute requests are welcome when the schedule allows, proposals especially.
